Christmas

~Christmas Day!!~
We had a great Christmas this year. Kailyn was so happy when she came downstairs and saw that Santa had come by to drop off all her presents, she couldn't wait to start opening them. It took her two presents to really start getting the hang of the unwrapping process, once she got the hang of it she just went to town! She loved all her toys, she kept going from one present to the next and then back again revisiting the same gifts because she got so many that she wanted to keep checking it all out, she couldn't make up her mind as to which one to play with first.

Grandma Betty came over for Christmas dinner so Kailyn really enjoyed that, they spent a lot of time just hanging out watching toons.

Mike and I enjoyed it most of all, just by watching our beautiful baby girl enjoy her 2nd Christmas with all her fabulous new toys!

Christmas morning

Merry Christmas! Cheers!

Christmas Eve

Christmas came and went again this year. It's amazing how fast it happens; people spend months planning, decorating, shopping, getting ready for Christmas and it's all over in one day.

Our fun started on Christmas Eve when we went to visit my very best friend and her family in San Ramon. We were invited for a fabulous dinner, delightful drinks and warm, heart-to-heart conversations. The men were in their own world, the women in theirs, and the kiddo's were running around having their own fun. It was a wonderful way to spend Christmas Eve and it made it that much more special.

Christmas is almost here!

As I finished my previous post I realized that Christmas was almost here. Even though it is the day before Kailyn's birthday somehow it wasn't what I was thinking of first, maybe because to me Kailyn's birthday is more of a milestone. I cannot wait until Christmas morning though, when Kailyn comes downstairs and sees all the presents under the tree. It was fun last year but this year she has a better understanding of things. I can just see her now, just tearing into all her presents with the biggest smile on her face, playing with the wrapping paper, then the boxes and then probably the present itself. She seems satisfied with anything new, whether it be a box or a toy. When you have a child, Christmas becomes all about them, you don't even think about yourself, or at least, I don't. I could care less if I get anything, it's all about my baby. :)

Just thinking about it makes me all giddy!!

The countdown is on...

All I have been thinking about lately is how quickly time flies. It's only 3 more days until my baby turns 2 and I truly cannot believe it. It saddens me at the fact that she is growing super fast and is no longer a "baby". I mean she will always be my baby no matter how old she gets, but still the fact remains that she is no longer a baby.

Every day she proves to me how grown up she is. She is one smart cookie, although I'm sure all parents say that about their children, but she truly is. She is talking quite a bit, not as much as I'd hoped for her age, but she is and every day she learns a new word and attempts most words. The thing that proves to me how smart she is is how she can now read a few letters and words. Yep, that right, my baby can read! :) We go through the alphabet and she only has difficulty with a few letters. It blows my mind at how she's developing and it's happening very quickly. She is also a very loving and caring little girl, and very happy pretty much all the time (except when she's got a tooth coming, especially those darn molars). She is a great listener and will do what she is told every time, and she also makes us laugh beyond belief! I am really proud of the little girl she is becoming and I am very excited for the future and the new tasks she will accomplish.

That's all for now, as I will go back to what I was doing before writing this new post; looking at Kailyn's baby pictures. :)

'Tis The Season To Be Jolly!

Yes, it is. I love this holiday season because everyone seems to be in a cheerful spirit, not only that but I love all the decorations, the lights, the ornaments, everything. Last week we went to Half Moon Bay to get our Christmas tree. It was my second time having a real tree, but a first having to cut it down. It was a lot of fun watching Kailyn run through the Christmas tree farm, picking up sticks and saying "Thissss" to everything. After about a half hour or so we found our tree. It was big, thick and lush. After bringing it home, we put it up and the following day, we decorated it. We were thrilled with the results, and nothing can beat the smell of a real tree...ahhh!
